The owners of this single storey thatched cottage had commissioned an extension which needed completion to their specification. Academics, they had a huge volume of books to accommodate in a relatively small space, so bookcases were designed and installed wherever possible.
A delightful master bedroom and dressing room have been created; mirror-fronted sliding wardrobes are a feature.
The kitchen and living space are open plan with huge picture windows overlooking a meadow. A monochrome scheme has been approved, with some ethnic prints and splashes of fuchsia.
Throughout the re-build the clients have been living overseas, so efficient communication has been essential. They look forward to moving into their new home in January 2009.
